We believe that racism, discrimination, and hatred are real and must be eradicated from our global society.
All persons, regardless of ethnicity, gender, and appearance, deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, compassion, be able to live safely free from violence, and any action resulting from racism, whether covert or overt. Every human has the right and should expect to be seen and heard, without prejudice and fear of oppressive behavior from others.
We know that systemic, institutional, and organizational racism are ever-present in our everyday lives and have a long tenure in our country. Due to this reality, we cannot sit idly hoping that miseducation, perspectives, and destructive beliefs that are oxygen to hate will go away. When present, ignoring racism, discrimination and hatred will not dispel or make it less real. It is time to stand up. We will stand with and for people of color and their lived experiences, not in solidarity, but in commitment, in acknowledgment, and truth. We encourage you to commit in your own way to be a part of the end of racism.
At the Urban Culture Agency, we are committed to denouncing racism, acts of violence, hate, and discrimination by engaging ourselves and resources in every way possible to help create a more inclusive future for all. We promise not to look away when injustice is present. We promise to lift our voices to effectuate change, using our platforms, connections, and networks to empower inclusion and equality across the diasporas. We promise to work continuously in all facets, personal and professional, to contribute to the end of racism in all forms. These promises will not only be exhibited in our company and team construct, but also in our actions, speech, projects, and collaborations.
